Philosophy

What we do

Philosophy

Our philosophy begins with the concept of biochemical individuality. Biochemical individuality means that there is only one you. Everyone’s nutritional and chemical make-up is different. Each person has unique needs based on their own nutrition, genetic structure, environment and lifestyle choices. Some of these variables can also change over time and since this is the only one body we have in this lifetime, taking care of our health is more important now than ever.

Therefore, at Only One You we offer personalized health and wellness solutions to meet your unique needs at any stage of your life.  Health and wellness solutions encompass natural nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations. The basis of natural nutrition is built upon eating natural, alive, good quality, unprocessed/unrefined, sustainable, nutrient-dense whole foods that help you thrive, not just survive.

Methodology

We first collect data and information to understand you and your main health concerns. We then analyze the data to understand the body system imbalances and the root causes of your main health concerns. Based on this analysis we provide personalized and actionable holistic (nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle) wellness solutions for your specific needs.

Our role as a holistic nutritional consultant is to educate, encourage, and empower you to live your healthiest life, because there is only one you.

MY STORY

Hi, I am Lubna and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.

After having spent over two decades in the corporate world (Finance, Marketing, Strategy) I recently did a career 180.

This story begins a few years ago when I landed the most “awesome” job at an advertising agency. It was perfect on paper. The reality was different. As a then colleague described my onboarding experience, “It’s like they have thrown you in the deep end of shark infested waters and they are holding your head down under water and screaming “SWIM!””

Dramatic much? Maybe, but it really was that terrible.

But as with any adversity there was a huge silver lining. It forced me to take pause.

My stress was higher than ever and it manifested as all the usual suspects (weight gain, fatigue, low mood, irritability, gut issues, headaches, etc.) I lasted maybe 8 months.

After I quit, in efforts to fix my health and focus on myself, I hired a nutritionist (RHN).

I didn’t know at the time that one decision would change everything.

This finance and marketing gal fell in love with science. The body is fascinating! So much so that I knew I had to do a 180 and pursue a career in nutrition.

After much research and scrutiny to program quality, I landed at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.  It was an intensive program (academic and practical) based in science and more. In addition to the extensive practical component, I took in depth courses in anatomy and physiology, symptomatology, biochemistry and epigenetics, pathology, hormone health, nutritional literature research, and about a dozen more.

And I kicked some serious butt! I graduated with Distinguished Merit (awarded to students who complete the program with an overall average of  95% or more). In a completely new subject matter. In my mid 40’s!! Which goes to show that with the right nutrition and lifestyle, anyone can keep their mind sharp as a tack at any age.

I am so excited to help you in your journey towards optimal health and wellness. Please reach out to learn more.
